Sunaad is a Trust set up in 2005 by an eminent Veena artist Smt Saraswati Rajagopalan with eminent trustees for promotion of Indian Classical Music in all its forms. It is with this laudable objective , Vidushi Saraswati Rajagopalan started this public trust with other eminent trustees i Shri V. Santhanam and Mr S Balasubramanian , Former Chairman, Company Law Board , New Delhi and Mrs Padmamalini G Rao .an eminent writer and publisher. Late Shri Muthusamy Varadarajan ( IAS Retd), Former Culture Secretary, GOI and an eminent personality in the Cultural field was one of the founder Trustees and Late Shri Ramswamy R. Aiyar, Former Secy to GOI an eminent Musicologist.
Sunaad has obtained from the Income Tax dept order under Section 80 G (5) (vi) of the Income Tax act , 1961, which benefit will be available to the donors .
It has been started with the objective of enthusing young people to appreciate the greatness of “ Indian Classical Music “ and our culture, and to give them an opportunity to learn it through expert teachers and musicians. It also provides a great opportunity for the young students to learn the various nuances through Workshops on specific themes and Seminars addressed by knowledgeable musicians and artists and through concerts.
Sunaad which promotes Classical Music, has been holding CLASSICAL MUSIC FESTIVAL each year from 2012 in Delhi with very acclaimed artists in Carnatic Classical and Hindustani Classical performing besides a number of upcoming artists.
